The Sport of all Sports

That phrase was coined by Dr. Fritjof Nansen years ago. And, he probably knew what he was talking about. It was he, who traversed the whole of Greenland, on cross-country skis. Certainly – cross-country skiing is one of the healthiest sports, there is. Over 90% of the entire muscle apparatus can be exercised uniformly and protectively. Cross-country skiing in Sölden even adds a still more attractive component. The vitalising altitude atmosphere. This ensures a wealth of variety and unbelievable panoramic impressions, on your way to best trained form. And, you can have all this over brilliantly prepared cross-country ski runs for enjoying classical cross-country skiing and ‘skating’. Direct from your Hotel Hotel***star The Bäckelar Wirt in Sölden – to start off your cross-country skiing vacation, and the whole world of Ötztal at your feet, with its innumerable cross-country ski runs.
